What is this? John Galliano in racist slur, -is now suspended from Dior, -and might face prison? What is this????

I haven’t slept for 24 hours, don’t ask -and was on my way to bed when I stumbled across the following story, -you probably know all about it by now -but I’m soo shocked. John Galliano anti-Semitic? Of course not! The outburst was recorded and you can watch it via the Sun’s website: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3436757/Film-of-John-Gallianos-racist-rant-in-bar.html

A Tribal Otherness…….

I found these awe inspiring images via http://afroklectic.blogspot.com/ -a fabulous blog reporting on all the fabulous happenings in the world of fashion, especially the black fashionista in Australia et al. I was soo effected (and don’t why) by these images that I just had to investigate further -and I’m exhausted. I’m thinking, just as black models are coming back -do you think they are now having to complete with errr models of all races -as the industry decides that it would rather book another race of model, and black them up, achieve that coveted ’white gal dipped in chocolate look -rather than book a real (is that the right word?) or lets say, someone who is naturally black (goodness is that right too)? See, I told you I was exhausted by all this. It all seems to come back to race -but if the truth be known, I’m kind of offended now…..this blacking up thing has gone on for far too long! Yes I’m loving all this black is beautiful, and Africa is HOT -goodness knows we have waited long enough, but this blacking up thing is taking work away from err models of black origin (there, -that sounds about right, Oh I don‘t know what is black??) I better leave it there, I need to grease my afro-hair, comb it and lovingly wrap it in my Hermes silk scarf…..see ya x

Hot Fire…RED!

Those closest to me will be very aware that I can’t stand this shade of fake red hair, especially on black gals as it tends to look ultra ghetto buttttttttttttt I’m loving this look -its fierce. I found it via

Beyonce Blacks-up for L'Officiel Paris’ March 2011 Issue for a Fela Kuti tribute ..and all hell breaks loose in Blogland …

**There’s been sooo much written about sister B -concerning the lighter/darker shade of her skin lately that I no longer care.. Why can’t this be seen in the artistic (expressionistic) way it was intended -and not another opening for a ‘race’ debate etc.. Personally, I’m kind off bored but I love the images and will be buying a copy. What are your views people?

Fashion et al Hearts Eartha Kitt

"I have never identified myself as black, white, pink or green. I'm an entertainer and thank goodness that has allowed me to pass through the boundaries of many worlds and many cultures! I've never felt I belonged to a race or a colour. I belong to the race of people and that's the way I identify myself " Eartha Kitt

***The animal prints, the pussy cat ears, the perfect eyebrows, the turban, the mac -the late great Eartha Kitt (1927 -2008) was way before her time -and Fashion et al is predicting that she is fashion’s next big icon…Be inspired!

Another something, something for you to enjoy this Happy Red Heart Day… it has to be Fleetwood Mac! Why you ask? Because they make loving fun……………

Stevie Nicks -Rooms On Fire

Fleetwood Mac - Don't Stop

Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon

Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way

Fleetwood Mac - Everywhere

Fleetwood Mac - You make loving fun

***I’ve always had a thing for Stevie Nicks (she’s a big fashion inspiration, up there with the likes of other musical greats like: Blondie, Patti Smith, Sheena Easton, Grace Jones et al) and Fleetwood Mac -and the other day BBC4 done a piece on them and I fell in love with their music all over again. They’re sooooOOO fabulous and whenever I hear one of their songs -it just gets to me…enjoy the music and have a fabulous errrrrr ‘Love day’ xxx

P.s check out their ‘Songbird’ track -its beautiful…and holds too much memory for me to put it up on here..x

The Spirit: Carrie Underwood, the late great Elvis Presley and the wonderful Susan Boyle sing my favourite hymn, ‘How Great Thou Art’ …..Be Blessed, stay beautiful…..xx

***I think that there are times in one’s life when you must give praise regardless, give praise even when you can’t see those things you have been praying for,-for however long. Give thanks and praises because you can, -and mostly, because God is God and he is good…Amen xx

Nicki Minaj

The images come courtesy of V magazine -fabulous aren’t they?

"All of my young and teenage early years we lived in fear that my mother would be killed by my father. It was ridiculous. It made me act out to guys and be evil to them when I was growing up. It made me tough. Of course it did. I am an emotional person, but I am a tough person. It was very tough emotionally for me to have a parent who was an alcoholic and a drug addict. I had a mum with no money." Nicki Minaj (The Sun Newspaper)

I’m running out of petals………..Happy Red Heart’s Day

I’ve always believed that we gals fall into two camps, the Victoria's Secret Angels and the Bridezillas -and I’m most definitely the former. I’ve found myself watching the desperate Bridezillas, a group of women who should have been born princesses and weren’t -trying to fit into one day, all that life owes them and making everyone pay for their shortcomings -whilst their very ordinary grooms-to-be spend the entire episode tallying up their monies, or lack off -not for me sweets. But you just known by Adriana Lima statement in this Valentine’s Day Do’s and Don’ts from Victoria’s Secret, “Why would you be with that man anyway” -that the Angels know their self worth and would never compromise, and why should they? Yep, I want to be a Victoria Secret Angel when I grow up! xx

Wow Jourdan Dunn and Sacha M'Baye 4 Burberry S/S 2011 campaign

Because I haven’t always been able to fit into (afford) designer gear -I sometimes indulge my little man and buy one or two pieces a year from designers that feature black models/peoples in their adverts (you know what I mean -people). Even though over the years I’ve spied some lovely pieces in Burberry’s children collection -like Evian water (I avoided it until I saw a new advert featuring babies models of colour) -I‘m now up for buying their goods. -And that’s all down to the latest Burberry S/S 2011 campaign. -It stars uber beautiful models, Jourdan Dunn and Sacha M'Baye and I’m impressed….ok -honestly, I think its about bloody time! The Obama effect? Never. http://www.Burberry.com
