Fashion et al Hearts Angela Simmons

Daughter of, girlfriend of, sister of, niece of -‘Pastry’ shoe designer, Angela Simmons is uber cute -and most definitely a fashion star in the making. Granted she doesn’t always get it right -who does…(our Angie's been known to wear what can only be described as dancehall queen-esque, stretchy, lycra shiny pieces) but she’s young, -passionate about fashion, and when she does hit the right note -is uber fierce in all her quirky, young, fabulousness…….go Angela…

Fashion et al Hearts Jessica Szohr

Of Hungarian and African-American decent, Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr is hot stuff and even though I can’t stand the way they dress her in the show (far tooo cha cha cha for me); I love her own style and the way she swings from full on glamour in va-va-voom red carpet dresses to laid-back fabulousness (when out and about with her boyfriend) – but my favourite of all her ‘looks’ –is when Jessica is ‘Fashion Fierce’ and strutting her stuff in this season’s greyest grey pieces.

Fashion et al Hearts Santigold

Hot musician/producer, Santi White aka Santigold is a fashion icon in the making! A walking experimentation of ‘colour-inyaface-glitzy-street-fauxfur-crazy-t-shirts-bold-pantaloons-and-some-demure-moments’ –Santigold is stunningly out there. Spontaneous [I can’t imagine Santigold planning her wardrobe advance like some –can you?] and a chameleon, -Santigold’s evolution in terms of fashion and style will make your head spin [in a good way]. She has morphed from ‘hot Ghettonista’ [the only type of ghetto fashion that works for me peps –* Nicki Minaj’s also good at this look] to an all out ‘what-is-Santi-gonna-wear-today’ fabulousness. Whether demure in an elegant dress [sitting in the front-row of a major fashion show], or dressed in bright stretchy leotards, with cap, loads of gold accessories and ‘it’ trainers, -or as a bored Miami housewife in a wonderful clash of colours - I love her regardless because the look’s all her own...........x

Fashion et al Hearts Khanyi Dhlomo

Ahhhh beauty....

Khanyi Dhlomo and Chinezi Chijioke -fabulous....

I don't normally cover marriages on my blog but as I was searching for photos of the ever fabulous Khanyi Dhlomo [South African media mogul and one of the most stylish and powerful sisters in Africa] -to do a Fashion et al Hearts -when I stumbled across the wonderful news and pictures of her marriage to the gorgeous Chinezi Chijioke [a Nigerian-American businessman] -and just had to share it. These two represent -what Africa's all about now; -unity, style, prosperity and movement [praise da Lord]. I love them ooOO! They are so 'sexy powerful' together. The following's more info about the lady in question and her new husband from ghananation.com...

***One of Africa’s most successful female media moguls Khanyi Dhlomo walked down the aisle with her Nigerian-American beau, Chinezi Chijioke in a beautiful ceremony on December 20 2009 Allee Bleue in Franschhoek – the Cape Winelands, South Africa.

The bride, Khanyi is well-loved and respected in South Africa, she started her career as a newscaster and then transitioned to the magazine industry at age 22 when she took over as the Editor of True Love Magazine. Under her leadership, the magazine thrived and expanded into various countries outside SA including Nigeria.

It was while completing her MBA at Harvard Business School that she met her husband Chinezi who is from Arochukwu, Abia State. The couple met in 2005 at a fundraiser for the African Leadership Academy which was founded by Fred Swaniker – Chinezi’s classmate at Stanford Business School.

They met, the sparks flew and then a connection was formed and now they are married. The couple are now based in South Africa where Khanyi co-owns a media company which publishes various magazines including Destiny – a popular women’s business and lifestyle magazine while the groom is a consultant for McKinsey & Co.

Their wedding was a showstopping yet intimate affair. The event was set in the lush natural surroundings of the Cape Winelands with tents setup in a beautiful garden. The bride’s ivory-coloured strapless dress with delicate embellishments was by designer to the stars, Elie Saab while the groom was handsome in his black suit paired with a blue tie. In the presence of their guests including the bride’s two children, the couple pledged their love and commitment then proceeded to dance the night away surrounded by their loved ones.

Its such a beautiful story and they are really an inspiring couple! Two young successful Africans coming together to share their lives as one. Wishing them a very happy marriage and lots of blessings! [Credit: http://news.ghananation.com/templates/?a=16272]

Fashion et al Hearts Zoë Kravitz

I’ve loved Zoë Kravitz’s style -forever. She’s how I imagine a lovechild of Lou Doillon and model/DJ Joy Vieli –would look like. She is –in my opinion a trendsetter! I love the way Zoë can go from slouchy rock princess in one-off t-shirts and customized denim shorts combo to uber groomed urban-socialite in cute-as-a-button Chanel dresses [Karl Lagerfeld’s a family friend] in a flash……x

Fashion et al Hearts Anita Blay -aka Thecocknbullkid

Shaven hair, 80’s Denim jackets, -and a mish-mash of bold dresses, a classic Mac, rock’n’roll t-shirts, a dash of high street and vintage bits‘n’bobs –yep, musician Anita Blay, aka Thecocknbullkid is marching-to-the-beat-of-her-own-drum. From ‘Goddess’ days in show stopping minx-y dresses to ‘am-I-bothered’ days in whacky t-shirts and skirt combo –you never know what your going to get with Thecocknbullkid. To me Anita is Art -and that’s why I love her; her music and her style….x
