I spiralled out of control -today! I did the type of shopping I used to do before my bank manager cut up all my credit cards five years ago and I blame it all on Benicio Del Toro! I was minding my own business, chilling with my little man, when I sported the ever elusive Metro, took one and stumbled across a story that has left me feeling very, very weird! Kimberley Stewart is having del Toro’s baby it screamed and B4 u can say ‘Jack Rabbit’ my little man and I took a detour, headed west and all I can say is that if I had had a bit more money, -Selfridges would have been emptied! I can’t believe it! I soooooo didn’t know that I still had a crush on that actor! How long ago was Traffic? Anyway like I said I’m kind of weird at the moment and my mate -Mz jagger-jagger told me to get a life, and you know what, she’s right -and I promise to get one tomorrow but for tonight -I just want to wallow! Because even though I’ve been happily single for nearly seven years, -I still need that fantasy man thing!!! -Who am I going to fantasize about -now? HELP….xx

What’s going on at Balmain??
I’ve always had a thing for Balmain…-with its uber voltage glamour, exclusive waiting list, the mini dresses, its rock’n’roll verve -who doesn’t love them??? Well the hotly talented Christophe Decarnin has left Balmain -and I just don’t know! I still have aspirations for wearing one of their f&%* me dresses when I get to size eight! I’ll be keeping a close eye on this fashion house -and will keep you in the loop.....

Have fur, will shoot…
http://www.faintmag.com/
I’m working on a big project right now -and getting ideas for some A/W 2011 shoots -and I most definitely want to shoot fur as its going to be sooooooo big this winter.. ..but I’ve had issues. I brought out my VINTAGE fur last week and have been moving it around my little flat -ever since. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I put it on the sofa a couple of days ago, -my little man came back from school, -saw it and screamed -so its now chilling at the back of my closest! Anyway, I was thinking of not shooting it until I stumbled across the above beautiful images from Faint magazine -then I changed my mind. I’m just hoping that the model I want to work with is up for wearing fur…xx

Kesewa and Adwoa Aboah 4 H&M A/W 2010
Its good to see beautiful Kesewa with her older sister, Fashion et al favourite, model Adwoa Aboah modelling for H&M A/W 2010 ad campaign. I can’t believe I missed this campaign -last year. It was part of H&M’s friendship/love verve and featured the likes of: Waris Dirie and Liya Kebede and Armando Cabral and his brother.

Your not tangerine …but wait until we start peeling….
Hey Ghana gals! Ghana galzzzzzss!!……My Ghana’s got its very own Sugarcubes, sorry Sugarbabes, the hottest girl band in Africa, called Reckless Dolls -and I love them… beautiful, these girls have brought back memories of my lovely Ghana gal flat tummy, something I haven’t seen since 2002.. but I promise when I get it back -to encase it in rolls of red, gold and green ‘bush gal’ beads to stop it from getting out of control -again. Anyway, Reckless Dolls is made up of: Fidelia Ankomah (Ewurama), Dharyann Bryan-Ghartey (Dharyann) and Tosan Scott (T.Scott) -and I’m a big fan. Lets support them folks -and see if we can get them to BET and at least a nomination for ‘Best African Act of the Year 2012‘.…Here’s hoping. For more info about the Reckless Dolls or to join their fan page visit: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Reckless-Dolls/205094059506567

Fashion et al Hearts Janelle Monae
I’m sure you already know I have a thing for the ever beautiful, Janelle Monae’s eyebrows, they are perfect, -you get none of that Ghetto thin 60’s and 70’s brow thing -or 80’s black gal shave-off-and-pencil-back-on craziness with Ms Monae! Note, ..she’s more than just a beauty icon, -I seriously love her music and her Scarlet Pimpernel met James Brown via Dorothy Dandridge retro style, -its all her own! The natural pompadour hair, the fabulous way she carries herself -plus, like Katharine Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich, Lauren Bacall et al, -she does her thing beautifully in masculine attire, -making the classic white shirt a force to be reckoned with…viva Janelle…

Fashion et al watches: Chantal Biya
Since the referendum in Southern Sudan, I’ve been overwhelmed by the developments in North Africa/Middle East, China and even Puerto Rica (increased tuition fees provoked mass student demonstrations). And now it seems things are moving a lot closer to my part of Africa, Ghana. The people of Cameroon have started to voice their dissatisfaction and intend, -to end the 29-year rule of president Paul Biya and his wife Chantal Biya (a must watch persona at fashion et al), -anyway, Fashion et al prays democracy, freedom and prosperity for the good people of Cameroon. But in the mean time, I thought I’ll do a, Fashion et al watches, -a first for this blog, because who doesn’t like watching Chantal Biya? Plus, as I’ve stated in the past, most of the women in my family look like or eventually end up looking like Madame Chantal Biya, such is our ambition, thus I’m naturally morphing in this direction (give me strength ooOO). Even as I type away, a resent development, I seem to be gravitating towards red lipsticks -a big no no with my black blue skin, plus, I’m automatically mistaken for my mother, -and I’m beginning to like red hair -yikes, goodness only knows where it will all end!
More information about the one and only, Chantal Biya
OK...
Hey Chantal Biya!
I can watch this all day. Hey Chantal!!!!
More info.....
Chantal Biya (born 1971) is the First Lady of Cameroon. She was born in Dimako, East Province, to French expatriate Georges Vigouroux and Miss Doumé pageant winner Rosette Ndongo Mengolo. Chantal Biya spent her adolescence in Yaoundé.
She married President Paul Biya on 23 April 1994, after his first wife, Jeanne-Irène Biya, died in 1992. Chantal Biya has established several charitable organisations. Among them are African Synergy, which pursues various HIV/AIDS initiatives, and the Chantal Biya Foundation (French Fondation Chantal Biya). She hosted the original First Ladies Summit in Yaoundé during the 1996 Organisation of African Unity summit. Her Jeunesse Active pour Chantal Biya is an organ of her husband's Cameroon People's Democratic Movement.
Among Cameroonian women, Biya is famous for her hairstyles. Her signature style is called the banane, and is used for formal occasions.[4] Biya has popularised other styles; collectively, they are known as the Chantal Biya. She is also known because of her exotic wardrobe. Some of her favourite designers include high-end Western labels such as Chanel or Dior.
Grand Prix Chantal Biya is a professional road bicycle racing event on the UCI Africa Tour.
Chantal's mother, Rosette Marie Mboutchouang, was elected Mayor of Bangou following the July 2007 municipal elections
