Words of Wisdom: Anna Wintour

“Do your homework, go online, visit every museum, and intern. You just need to have a love for what you’re doing. It’s not about thinking that it’s the cool thing; it’s about really believing in it. Anna Wintour

***I often get emails about how to get into the fashion industry.....and all I can say is -I'm a big believer in internship. Yes it can be hard to get one with some of the bigger glossies -but why not try one of those fabulous high-end newspaper magazines [Style and Stella magazine are good]. Also, start blogging -it's a wonderful platform for your work/style and can lead to amazing opportunities....xx

Edward Enninful in 'The September Issue'

The September Issue is a wonderful insight into the inner workings of the September 2007 issue of American Vogue -and brand Vogue!! I'm sure that by now you all know just how much I love Anna Wintour [she is living my life ooOO -and is refusing to give it back hehehe] and just had to share, -plus there is a lovely little scene with one of my favourite Stylists, Edward Enninful and its soo funny [I love that brother]....xx

My Kind of People: Mothers & Daughters

Some days -I wake up in a tidy bedroom; beaming with sunlight, cosy in my 300 plus thread count bedsheets (from TK Maxx), with my beautiful son snuggled up close -with the smell of fresh yellow roses cascading around me and I feel soooo alive and happy (and wonder if life can get any better). The above photograph of Desiree Rogers, her daughter Victoria, Vogue editor Anna Wintour and her daughter Bee Shaffer at the Marc Jacobs A/W 09 show gives me the same feeling. On trend, exquisite and warm (like a Comptoir des Cotonniers advert); this photograph gives you the feeling -of living in a world that -some how, seems fairer, more just, a world without prejudice, poverty or hate. I truly love this photograph -it is soo 'post black', 'post Obama' and beautiful.
