Joaquin Phoenix's I'm Still Here is released in the U.S. on September 9

I’ve always had a soft spot for Joaquin Phoenix. I used to have a crush on him and his brother, the late River Phoenix but I don’t know about this film or this stage in his life... Is he being exploited whilst ill? The truth is ‘I'm Still Here’ looks like its going to be tooo painful to watch.......anyway, you can read more about Joaquin Phoenix, the film and that beard at: : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1304039/So-THATS-Joaquin-Phoenix-grew-stupid-beard.html#ixzz0wwqECFRu

Photographer: Sølve Sundsbø

I can’t remember what I was googling or researching -but I stumbled across the above images from a shoot by photographer Sølve Sundsbø, styled by George Cortina, featuring Alla Kostromicheva, for VOGUE Nippon May 2010 via a fab Blog called The Greyest Ghost (you can check it out at: http://thegreyestghost.wordpress.com/) -and I love it, –there’s something very womblike about the whole shoot…. I would love to work with photographer Sølve Sundsbø.

Kanye West’s “We Were Once A Fairytale”

I once knew a guy who lost his beloved mother –he was never the same again.....and it got me thinking about Kanye West and the crazy time he’s having and then I remembered this film! I still don’t truly know what it means –even though a few plebs claim to know on YouTube... With Amber Rose moving on –and rumours of alcoholism still doing the rounds –I wonder if Kanye still wants it all? As an intellectual, an artist and creative genius, a style icon and fabulous musician, –I bet Kanye wishes he could go back..........way back.....way before the fame...way back...to the time he was recovering from that ‘accident’ –when he was dreaming of how/when/what would happen when he makes it!!!! .... Big Love to you Kanye....Sweets, why not go to Northern Ghana for a year or so.....volunteer to teach or maybe work in one of the many children’s homes there –and get off the hamster wheel of life. Then -eat, sleep and pray? Fashion et al is sending out oodles of ‘Big Love’ to you Kanye... xx

Vogue Italia does the Gulf of Mexico

(Images courtesy of Vogue Italia at www.vogue.it)

The lovely Natasha sent me a link to Vogue Italia’s ‘Water & Oil’ shoot –and I’m truly grateful. Natasha loves the shoot and finds it, “moving & a bit shocking” –and I agree! The thing is, -I’m guessing that Vogue Italia’s ‘Water & Oil’ -is a fashionable interpretation of the environmental catastrophe that happened in the Gulf of Mexico (an oil spillage that continues to damage the earth and wildlife in its wake), -then hopefully it’ll help to highlight just how environmentally fragile the earth is –but I’m guessing that mostly, –folk will be blown away by the creatives involved (including: fab photographer, Steven Meisel, the astonishing youthful Kristen McMenamy, make-guru Pat McGrath and the Set design by Mary Howard), -but if you are anything like me, –you’ll be blown away by the kaleidoscopic amounts of uber fabulous pieces Vogue Italia’s were able to call-in for the shoot –considering that most of these garments were going to be treated soo harshly, its reminded me again of the power of the Vogues –what do you think? You can watch a behind the scence footage of the shoot at: http://www.vogue.it/en/magazine/cover-story/2010/08/water--oil Enjoy..xx

Photographer: Anne-Constance Frenoy

The above story -entitled Irina is by photographer Anne-Constance Frenoy’s –and I love her work, -it has such an evocative, delicate strength about it. Her eye for detail and lighting skills (something that many known/celebrated photographers don’t have) is incredible –making her subjects skin pop out from the pages –is a dream. I’d love to work with her, her photographs, -make me want to dream! http://www.anneconstancefrenoy.com

Kaiser Lagerfeld at the airport.....

Can you believe it? He looks soo human ...I’m loving the bag –its very north London......fabulous x

Fashion et al Hearts Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj is ‘Hot’ –in fact she’s probably the most photogenic female rapper of all times – and officially the hottest female entertainer on the planet –right now (just feast your eyes on the above images). A living -breathing sexualized Barbie, whether Nicki’s doing, green-haired-cartoon-space-age-urbanite or Harajuku –freaky-gal-Ghetto-princess, or channelling Marilyn Monroe,– Nicki’s always fabulous and true to herself –and that’s why I love her. Her style, –well on anyone else –her get-ups would look wacky, in-ya-face and plastic but with her verve and confident life-force, - Nicki carries it off with aplomb.....Go girl

Naomi Campbell testifies about blood diamonds at war crime trial of former Liberian President Charles Taylor.......

I’m exhausted by all the negativity arrowed against Naomi Campbell and feel that she would have been -better equipped if she had worn a cross and not an ‘evil eye’ amulet around her neck. She’s a beautiful woman, –who caught the eye of a crazy dictator –and was given a gift....surly we have all experienced something (sort of) similar? ....Just uploaded onto YouTube, -this film clip has already got the plebs -talking a-whole-load-of-rubbish about this complicated but loving lady (who, –in my eyes, -has had her own ‘road-to-Damascus’ transformation). I’m sending big love ...Naomi’s way........x
